  1. Has anyone on here tried mating a 5 speed T25 box to a type 4 ???

I never thought about doing this. Let me know how it goes if you do do it. I feel the box is the next thing to be done on my bus.

  3. my local VW man has done a few conversions but doesn't rate the box very highly

when i enquired he suggested i spent my money else where on the camper

  5. aren`t t25 boxes longer in length?

  6. The box will mate up ok to the engine ,but as said you need to measure up the length and depending on which box you go for the ratios are no better than an 091 ... then there's the rod change to sort out ( although you could just change everything over from the t25, shifter and all) or go for a cable change set up ( cant find the link atm, think it was around 400 notes then shipped from the states)..

could be better off just getting your box rebuilt with better ratios.... although it aint that cheap, trust me :'(

  7. I`ve seen one on a split , but it also had the rear swing arms off a T25 as well..I`ve also seen a transit engine in a T25 up front...
