T25 091 gearbox

  1. Can you use/convert a T25 091 5 speed box to work in a latebay ? And is it worth the effort lol.

    I'd say not worth the effort, if it was loads would have been done already.

    Very very early boxes can be fairly easily converted, but later ones are dedicated side shift

    Had a linkage go on a mates so climbed underneath , jammed it in 3rd and drove the bloody thing home - 130 miles on country roads whenever possible :rolleyes:

  8. 5 speed is an 094 box
    As Snotty said the gearshift is on the side and and can't moved unlike the the T25 091 4 speed box. It is also longer than an 091.
    5 speed boxes are not an overdrive 5th gear, it is the same ratio as 4th in a 4 speed box you just get an extra gear lower down.

    And 1st is doglegged below reverse on the same gate, can be a right pain in the arm
