T2 BAY 2litre injection 1978 BERLIN WESTFALIA CAMPERVAN FOR SALE

Discussion in 'Late Bay Classifieds' started by Paul phillips, Feb 11, 2018.

  1. I am selling my van after owning old musty for the last 4 years.

He is 4 berth with top bed canvas on good condition

This van was imported in 2008 from the US, calafornia.
The van was resparayed in the US but not sure exactly when.

Since having it I have done the following.

Modernised the electrics added an internal light and camping battery.
It runs of 240v systems and still uses the original external power lead point.

Fridge, sink water pump is still in good working order. The interior is chipped in places but really good for 40 years of use.

New rear shocks and the engine has been maintained replacing push rode seals and other rubber parts. It is on a electronic starter rather than points.

    Window rubbers have been replaced.

The engine is still the 2.0 litre injection with 91k on the clock. New alternator fitted 3 years ago.

I am looking for 13k or near offer. I m including a bus shelter and 3 meter circular main awning. Plus spears kit like POINTS, accelerator cable. Etc

Finally it has 4 new tyres purchased in September last year. These are still under gaurentie.

Great runner cruises 70 on the motor allday still now.

Here is a link to video of the van I have taken.

Please call me on 07916146252 I am happy to give more details. And send photos

    Thanks

Looks very tidy @Paul phillips :). You just need to add a location, as per forum sales rules.

    Good luck with the sale.

Nice bus! A very honest video and fairly priced I would say. Watching and listening makes me want to get mine out of the garage and do a bit of camping at long last! Would you be able to let me know how you did the camping electrics? Or where you had it done as I still have USA spec 110 v so when I hook up I have to go via a step down transformer in and out of the window! And its less than ideal. Like you I’d like to keep the original side of the van socket. Some photos or video of the underside would really help potential buyers too, but it was a wet day.

  8. Thanks for

The wiring was a bit if beast but has some help from a friend. We toke out the US plug unit. The whole it leaves is just right for a garage style circuit breaker unit. Got that from wicks for about 60 pounds. Then from the existing in exterior connection on the van go into the circuit breaker. Then out of one of the fuse points connect to sure to a mains plug to use inside for radio or what over. From the over fuse go to an inverter from maplins takes 240 to 110. Then on to the existing 12v charger unit. I have the inverter available for sale if your interested as my original 12v battery charger packed up so added a modern 12v charging unit.

Because it comes in off current main connection we can still use the original pannel. I have by passed the 2 hour dial limit and use the switch on the charger.

Happy explain further over the phone its not the easiest thing to explain via writing. Took me and my mate (who works old cars and busses for job) I while to work out how.

Worth noting for future installations that a ‘garage style circuit breaker unit’ probably does not comply with the current (no pun intended) regulations for use in a campervan/mobile home/caravan. Circuit breakers should be double pole.

Thanks so much Paul. I've also started a bit of a thread on Mech Tech. So i'm getting a good idea of things (there and on here). Thanks for the offer of phone call. Once i get my act together I'll give you a shout.

    All the best

    P.
