  1. Nice project. I'll be interested to see how this works out.

  2. 8:2:1 if it's original WO
    :)

  3. Your correct but I used 1.6 copper sealing rings , as all blown engines have them to aid sealing and to just lower it slightly ...but it has WO correct cam and pistons ..... I'm kinda making it up as I go

  6. Nice work

  7. Hi great wrk , are you lowering compression.?

  8. Not really , modern fuels and the low psi I'll run won't be a problem ......only difference from stock CR is the 2mm head gaskets

  9. Have you done any more to it? :)

  10. Been mental busy at work , so busy the bus hasn't been out all year .....

  11. Can't help but think I need an inter cooler / charge cooler ....what do you think ?

  12. Something is better than nothing ;)

I've started thinking about intercooler locations, as I'm going to turbo the engine in the fish  Turbo pistons will be on my next big states order  :D

  13. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

How is the Fish? I recall you have some way to go before you'll be fitting the engine? Any progress at all?

  14. None at the moment... Am in need of some extra hands, but I have started collecting repair panels so I can hit it in one go or a few goes ;)

  15. Theres loads of modern cars fitted with chargecoolers you could use. May as well fit one while you are making up intake piping.

Paul, isn't there a cheaper alternative to aftermarket VW pistons? Cossie ones etc?

  16. I'd've thought it depends how big the pulley is....smaller pulley, more revolutions

  17. Well I can't find one that fits what I've done so far ,so will have to make my own version of a charge cooler

  18. So project stalled a bit due to work . I have a nice vintage speed 150bhp exhaust , ordered ECU , fuel pumps , 4 coils ,leads, lamba sensor , loom and a multitude of other bits to enable this to progress ..

I have done a lot of work on a charge cooler , mk1 then mk2 etc will post a few pics but it's not the easiest thing to try to get to fit with what I have already done . Finding something off the shelf is a non starter so I cut one up . I should of planned things better from the start as I am using a mixture of stainless pipes and an aluminium cooler which obviously I can't weld together ....

as its off a shaguar i had to cut the 4 inlets off and modify the air in .......hopefully it will fit slap bang where i want it to.

As all my pipe work is stainless i am making stainless flanges which will be welded to existing pipework .....
