Mine has done exactly the same thing, has had a new ignition switch, points, condenser etc. I'd be interested to know if you've fixed it!!
Well the Accuspark lasted about 50 miles I reckon. Broke down today. The Rotor arm gave up the ghost already.
Lol, I have actually had them last year's in the past! That doesn't seem to be the case with them these days though.. maybe we should offer a prize for any that last over 1000 miles?
I had a fluttering like this on my crewcab. It turned out to be the 3 screws that hold the choke units to the Carb body. Grab hold of the chokes and try moving them up and down on the carb. If loose you'll need to remove the choke element to tighten all 3 screws.
I had a timing light with me, popped it on middle coil lead and it flashed, put it on each plug lead and nothing, swapped Rotor arm and away it went ! Actual electronic bit is still working. For now
Similar problem, unfortunately I steamed in and got a new electronics module and then noticed the rotor arm problem as I was fitting the replacement electronics, (*****). Still I now have a spare
I blame the cheap and poor quality Chinese made? parts these days. I had rotor arm, points and several condensers fail early on the MGB. I now source old NOS parts which were made in the days of quality and reliability.
I just tried to fit a Beru Rotor arm and cap. They wont fit on the crapuspark together. The rotor arm sits too high so you can see the cap wobbling as its not down far enough. I have had to put another cheapo rotor arm back on.
The Beru parts are good. Problem is the Chinese bag-o-... distributor sold with Accuspark unit inside is a different design to the Bosch so the parts: cap, rotor etc dont fit. I ended up buying a scrap Bosch distributor, and a new Chinese one and swapping parts over until my original distributor mechanism worked properly.
