Stumped by Solar.......my brain hurts now

    Mine is a bit newer but has also been faultless, although I only use it while camping – the heat exchangers work :thumbsup:. The solar panels on the other hand don’t.

    If your leisure battery has a too thin earth wire or a bad earth this will cause too high voltage while engine running as the charge current produces a voltage drop in the earth wire that adds to the battery voltage. So it looks too high at the load.
    At night the current flows the other way and the voltage drop subtracts from the battery voltage so it looks too low at the load.
    Measure the voltage between each battery negative and the engine block with rhe engine running. More than 0.1 volts says the earthing could be better.

    A knackered battery will produce similar faults. Suspect external wiring and battery condition before getting all angry and binning the Propex..
