might be worth getting a tracker of some kind if exposed to passers by. they must have been keeping their eye on it for a while and possibly local too. they might not live where they parked it as parking can be a pain on street and not everyone parks near to home as a result so might have taken advantage of this soo pleased u got it back
Barneyrubble - unfortunately the police did not get the scrotes. The witness took photos of them and got the reg number of their getaway vehicle but, apparently, they did not seem too interested in chasing them or tracking them down. Baydreamer - A tracker is definitely on my list of additional security measures. Any advice on a decent tracker gratefully received.
typical id go for a nice brightly coloured wheel clamp (wired to the mains then ) surely they have enuff evidence .
I would lodge an official complaint to the police ombudsman. If they've got away with it, They'll only go and steal another one and I don't want it to be mine!
Really? I wouldn't bother as you'll just waste more of your time. Glad you got it back mate; right result!
Great news - you have been very lucky to get her back. I too think that I should fit a tracker.... but which one? Most seam quite expensive with annual subscriptions more expensive than my van insurance!!
Good news. Ask Plod where/who the vehicle is registered to. When they ask why and refuse tell them that your investigating the incident as they cant be arsed.
If you are going to keep the van - the one with a lifetime subscription is best and most cost effective. Search on here for tracker systems - there are many posts here already on which to choose.
Am not a huge fan of the Police - but undermanned and snowed under with paperwork is the main reason car crime is not investigated - that, and the insurance companies make a LOT of money from it.
