    Hi guys
The gap underneath the steering wheel is it supposed to be like that or is there something missing?[IMG][IMG]

Needs adjustments, you may need to remove the steering wheel and upper spacer , undo steering lock , there’s a hole in the front of the plastic left hand side , Allen key bolts, undo a couple of turns and push the whole lot up

  5. ^this. The gap should be about 3mm. If it’s wider, your horn won’t work and the indicators won’t self-cancel. As above, you’ll need to slacken the casting/clamp that holds the switches, and push/tap it further up the column.

the horn works because the contact has been bent right up, you can see the cancellation ring is not far enough in, do as above everything will work

Mine was similar, think you may have if you pull the column shroud up a bit !

  9. Not the shroud...the alloy casting that holds the ignition switch’n’stuff

  10. Bloody hell, my horn and self cancellers have never worked. never even gave it a moments thought, just presumed that’s how they were made! (There’s a horn button on the dash on mine..).

I shall get mine working at the weekend!

That's it, the black bulky bit under the steering wheel, mine was wonky and it moved up whilst straightening...and voila, cancelling indicators!

  12. Here's a pic, if you've got a late column.

Check the mounting bracket isn't bent downwards as a start. You need to take out the shear-head screw (can see it on the RHS): a screw extractor or similar will do it. Stick a replacement bolt in, tighten it a bit, then tap the alloy bit that holds the ignition switch upwards (a punch on the casting helps). When the gap's about 3mm, tighten the bolt to clamp the casting to the outer column.

Your horn should work, and the indicators should self-cancel (assuming the switch/flippers are ok)

Sorted i was fitting a new indicator stalk as my original one, didn't work i had to hold it up to indicate right.
Horn works and indicators self cancel.
Don't know how long this cheap copy will last but im going to see if i can get the old one working.[IMG]
