Have you got a welder and a steady hand? Clean up the end of the bolt that hasn't got a drill stuck in it with a drill or die grinder, then with that steady hand, blob a bit of weld on the end of the bolt.. give it a second, then blob again onto your first blob.. repeat this several times till you have enough sticking out to either get mole grips on, or weld a nut to.. let it cool naturally before you try and undo it. If you haven't got a steady hand, take it to the engineers..
Steady hand you say. I'll have a cider for breakfast and should be ok I may try this as a last resort ..... Watch this space. Or listen for sobbing from the Southampton area
Had 3 goes at this but the Weldy bit keeps snapping off the stud end, was getting a giod blob on then the nut but don't want to go overboard with the weld and damage the box.... Maybe machine shop is best
Still gotta pull yon gearstick off .. When I removed the master cylinder , an ovally gasket/shim came off with it, can't remember though if it was between the m/c and chassis as a gasket, or on the other side of the chassis member where the nuts go on the bolts. Anyone know ?
Think he stubbed it out when he saw me coming. I do look like health n safety inspector after all, don't I !!
Yes , golden glittery oil, two big lumps of metal, a screw, a circlip and spaces where there should be metal... the brass bit , the bushing in the side cover should be smooth inside, not stepped, in the picture.
