    Did the collar lift after WD40 or every paper...that was the bit I was querying?

    As to oil grade anything is better than nothing!

    is EP80 Gl4 or Gl5 better please? I’ve run out of my car lube stuff so have hit Halfords before I hit the M40 again

    GL4 (although unlikely to matter in the steering box). A bottle of Halfords stuff will do.

    thanks very much mr @snotty . I shall make purchase, fill it up with my custom filler and try not to lose the red cap on Halfords car park!! :)

    It probably prefers GL4 as there are bronze bits in the steering box. But for many, Ready Brek would be better.
