Steering box, is it dead?!

  1. Thanks for the info, the drop arm is already off the spare box so I’ll check that one, it may have just fell over in my spares pile, it wasn’t leaking on the donor camper. The one on the bus is leaking pretty bad. So I need to deal with it sooner than later.

Mines been leaking for about 2 years now @Kerrin Wells so no need to rush :) just carry the top up fluid with you!

  3. I use the Landrover swivel joint grease. (Comes in squeezable sachets) It’s specially formulated to avoid leaking, (as all the worn LR swivels used to) but is thin and oily enough to lubricate properly . Seems to be a kind of oil and molybdenum mix.
Works a treat on my bus! No leaks.

Whatever you use needs to be thin enough so any metal bits fall out of suspension. Any sort of grease just turns into grinding paste.

The oil in mine was full of lovely golden glitter from the bushings.
