Think my battery needs replacing. Had to jump start it this morning as it was completely flat. I'll put a multimeter across it later but it's been in for years and I suspect it just needs chucking. Until then any advice on what make battery i should buy and where to get it?
    Ta.

Bosch S4. What GSF sold me, after I previously used old Peugeot 309 diesel starter batteries.

  6. Worth getting the bigger 096 rather than the 063(?) that VW fitted. Gives you a bit of extra capacity for when you need it.

  10. I've been using batteries from breakers yards for many years. An 80Ah battery will cost £20-25 and give at least 4 years of good service

  11. Get a decent brand Varta etc, most come with a three year guarantee now. Personally I would get a 70- 80ah one it’s worth it for the extra umph on cold starts. It should last a lot longer than 3 years if you keep it fully charged with a battery conditioner ctek etc when you are not using it for a while.
