    Afternoon all,

Right, on the way to Techenders I developed a squeal that sounds as if its coming from the front offside wheel.
It was fine, then squealed under braking approaching a roundabout. It still brakes fine.

An hour or so later, going up the big hill towards Eddie's, it started squealing without me braking, but a dip of the brake pedal cured it. It still brakes fine. This happened a few times on the way home too.

Just took it on a tip run, and noticed a clicking sound when turning right at any sort of speed, like on a roundabout.

There is no noticeable play in the front offside bearing.

    What say yee?

Sticky front calliper for the squealing?

    What about the clicking?

    Cheers

Could be a stone between the disk and pad....sometimes they can get embedded in the brake pad.

    Clicking is deffo front?

The squeal could well be the caliper sticking, although some pads like to squeal even if it's not sticking. Lightly sanding a slight taper on the edge of the pad usually sorts it.

While you have the pads off, give the disc a spin and see if it clicks. If it does, probably wheel bearing.

It sounds like it but as I had the window open it probably would anyway.

    Could be rear I suppose?

  5. Might be both a sticky caliper and wheel bearing.

Sticky caliper especially if it squeal goes away when touch the brake.

I would change the brake fluid too, worth doing for the price of a bottle of fluid, amazing the difference and colour of stuff that comes out.

Which reminds me, mine needs doing too.

@Lasty had a clicking. He thought it was coming from the front but turns out it was a noise travelling from the back. Thought it was bearing but was simply the handbrake cable sticking out or something along those lines. Also could be the Speedo cable. Worth disconnecting it to see if clicking at least goes away.

Hmmmm trouble is I've got a VSS on the back of my speedo, and without it, it doesn't idle properly.
I shall have a look when I get a chance!
