Spare wheel placement - Lou has a lightbulb moment !!

Your telling me a 15" tyre will fit under the passenger seat??

I'm gonna measure up tomorrow, I don't believe it.

Anyway that's my beer stash, can't be loosing that to a tyre.....

 

All this is very good but if your van is lowered a space saver isn't going to help much is it?

 

if a space saver is only 3.5 inches wide i think i can mount it under the floor infront of the beam (where a T25 has it's spare)

 

it would replace the belly pan but yes it would have to be spaced below the linkages

 

what i can't find is if a ET of 25 is suitable

 

has any one found a 5x112 space saver yet? all a4 and a6s i've ever looked at have a full size spare

thanks for that mini bungle think thats a bit to pricey for something im hoping to never use plus im running lowish profile tyres on a 16" wheel so the 18" space saver might be to larger diameter to fit under the front arch if i ever needed it? think i would need a 16" saver with a 135/80 tyre to fit

Hmmm, not sure about that

Thinking about putting it back in the wheel well, taking it out when we get to the campsite and putting a bit of foam in its place to make up the size of the bed. We sleep head to the tailgate so is a bit intrusive!

Or might make a rear swinger like on the new danbury ones..

Or, what is more likely, is that I'll leave it up there and just get on with the camping!!
