  4. Im not going to use it now or the spots ive got for it so there up for sale dude

  5. bizarrely the deluxe i've got has the bench seat up front with the wheel well under the bench - like my old 2slider - yet they still put a wheel mount upfront. Thankfully its undamaged, apart from the 4 big fecking holes...

the Rivi has a wheel well in the back, and a wheel on the nose...

My SA has a wheel well in the back, with a wheel in it!!

And one on the roof rack for good measure

I'm still looking into the space saver and l seem to have made some progress though l need to get up close and personal with a Mercedes Vito. And E class spare wheel will probably do too. Mercedes run with 5x112 PCD wheels. Being that they had big brakes it should clear our little brake set up and off sets too. An E class however from what l have read it runs with 155 section space saver which doesn't seem to be much of a space saver compared to the 185's we run anyway.

So I'll look into this a bit more. I have however discovered on another forum that the AA have a clause about spare wheels. In the blurb it clearly states that if your vehicle came with a spare then you should carry a spare. They may refuse to recover you. This isn't great news but for those with Stateside imports we have a secret up our sleves and that is the collapsable spare wheel. Total nightmare and where the hell do you get one from?? l'll keep documented stuff in mine to prove it until l find something suitable that l can stow in the rear cupboard. I much prefer the wheel off the front now.

And for your info, Saab 9-3 space savers will not fit. They are very close but the PCD is 5x110. Shame really as a friend gave me one for free.

  16. other thing i though was a wheel that right size and have a wheel adaptor made up to suit the new pcd like when fitting porsche rims? just leave it bolted to the rim in the van when not in use?

  18. What diameter are the Passat spacesavers/

Like the idea of the adapter...

The AA clause is a bit of a worry, what would happen when they showed up, would they just leave you there?

    Cheers

  20. i am nowhere near my bus so i cant look, but what about the engine compartment?
dont laugh too much. i have seen people cut the spare wheel well out to fit a battery tray, but what about cutting it out to see if a wheel will fit and drop down into the engine bay. yes it will be a bugger to do but if any one has a scrapper they would cut up it may work if the tinware/carbs arent in the way. a lid would then need to be fitted.

i prefer my breakdown card and i dont carry a spare or tyre foam, or a jack, or a wheel brace
