  1. took my carbs off to get my tinware off and sent to powder coating.
on top of the tinware for 3&4 were some screws. one was a pointy little blighter that looked like a carb jet but it had no holes through it. it had been there for a while looking at the state of it. I looked on the carb and it is the venturi retaining screw. the others were the same as the choke retaining screws but none were missing so they must have been replaced.
my question is will the carb have problems with the venturi screw removed? i ask this as when i took the other carb off, the same screw is missing but not sat on the tinware.

  2. think a venturi screw holds  the venturi in place in the carb throat ....

  3. yeah it does but will it draw air in and cause a running fault?

  4. any holes with cause running problems within the carb ....stick ya finger on it whilst its running to see mate .....maybe it needed air ,so previous mech removed screw to get a good idle ?????just a thought
