Presumably this is to stay in while they are working in nearby hospitals, not as a nice “jolly” ;)

  2. Yes, or if they are having to stay away from others who are isolating.

It was a genuine question at that point. It’s easy to be judgemental towards it now. No need.

  4. So did we ever get to the bottom of whether people can go camping or not? I’ve watched all of borris’s statements and he’s not mentioned bays once. It’s like he doesn’t care.

We can deffo go camping because he hasn’t specifically mentioned my registration number or vehicle model , and I’m important and fabulous, so to recap I CAN , but you can’t , unless you can in which case it’s fine , assuming you decide you’re extra speshul

  6. What if I wear a mask so I look like you? Surely I’d be ok then?

Thing is, for many of us you define camp. How could you be banned? That really would be a breach of basic human rights. What about the rest of us?

It’s now Monday night. My post was Saturday morning. Clearly I wouldn’t have posted this today, yesterday, or even later that day. It caused a lot of debate since Saturday. But like I said it was a genuine question at the time. And we all know how much has happened since then especially the many, many more deaths. Perhaps no more needs to be said on it as we are all pretty clear on the situation now.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this post. Stay safe.

    Paul.

nobber, I am the epitome of camp and manliness, it’s difficult for me to carry it off but my humility helps my fabulousness and I my natural beauty helps , as you are not as human as me you have less rights, I saw on Facebook a picture of you at the beach, so that must have been today ? All I can say is think about yourself, you are one of the high riskers considering your advanced years , I mean Kirk Douglas was old BUT :D xx

Back to the oldies that live full time in their motorhomes.

Wales shutting all camp sites I read. Knee jerk. Are they going to clear the sites? What about the people to whom camp sites are home? In most of not all cases they've been ducking under the radar, officially they're living an illegal lifestyle. Like boats, the local councils turn a blind eye because if they turf them out they'd have to house them.

I don't think this is a minority thing, previously I've seen estimates of at least 1/2 million people living like this and no, they don't all go to Spain for the winter.

On top of the gimmers, I've met tradesmen and their families living like this, particularly the building trade which can be on/off. Are they going to be herded out too? These peeps don't have houses, their caravans and motorhomes are a all they have.

It shows how quickly things have changed doesn’t it? It was a reasonable question when you asked it.

  15. I read something on bbc news that they are only turfing them out if they have a primary residence to go back to and are able, think they’re just kicking the holiday crowd out

Your quick sale is going to look very smart as there's a rush of people realising they couldn't really afford one in the first place and really need that wedge right now. The garage that bought it...doh!

I'm sure it will be. They're taking guidance from the industry association here and course there has to be compassion and understanding. It would be a sad day indeed that saw people who have nowhere else to go being turfed out into the street. The chandlery is operating a closed door policy so people are being helped but a telephone call or a polite knock on the window will be the order or the next 3 weeks at least.
Mel's been in the office from early doors and they are trying to do as much as possible to help their customers. Sadly there will be the tranche of special people for whom nothing is ever enough...
