Sliding side door adjustment

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by russtynuts, Jun 26, 2017.

  1. Looking at getting my side door closing flushed . According to the Bentley manual it's done with shims on the bottom roller . The door seems to close ok everywhere else . Will adjusting the bottom roller make this better . Also my front doors don't sit flush since new rubbers were fitted a while back and the catches are adjusted as far as they go , any ideas ? Cheers Russ

  2. Good luck, tried everything over the last 3 weeks, mine still sits out a little and whatever I try I cannot get the rear to latch in more than 1 in 6 times I shut it, Stumped I think!!!

Not sure what year bus you have but the earlier ones need the handle to be lifted after they're shut to tuck the rear end in. Best to whack some pictures up.

@davidoft doesn't fix sliding doors, he scares them into fixing themselves with a stern glare.

I believe even Chuck Norris goes to davidoft for door advice.

Hmm, @davidoft will know best but have you had any repairs done in that area at all? How does it fit elsewhere? Some pictures of the whole door and other areas may help.

How's the front top corner look, and the rear top corner, also the front lower corner, have you got a dead square on picture of the door to see the gaps all round
