@Davidoff informed me when I saw him in the summer, that my sliding door seal was wrong, new seal purchased from Schofields at TattonPark.....it's now about time I fitted it. As the old seal isn't the correct one, it may be no help to assist in fitting the new one....so is the first photo the top left corner looking from the outside and the second photo the bottom left corner....or have I got it inside out? (Rhd..door on left )...sorry second photo is upside down! Sent from my SM-A310F using Tapatalk
Rear of slider side is a different profile as is top if i remember rightly pops in nice and easy when its the right way round cant really tell of those pics take a pic of full seal
Top pic looks like it needs to be flipped so will be top right of door cant be 100% of that pic though
Looks like it's inside out to me, but can't really see as the photos are quite dark. The thin flappy bit should be outside, with the square side pushing into the channel. Is it one of the nice soft light grey ones, that feel like they've got a sort of powder on them? I got one of those from Schofields, and we fitted it at Techenders - right nice it is too, and does the job perfectly.
Cheers guys....Will flip and perhaps try and get better photos......got it from Schofields at TattonPark show but it's not grey.....prob that's why it seemed like a bargain !
Now flipped....top left and bottom left.no idea why phone insists on inverting the bottom left one ! Just realised....does door have to come off to fit without cutting ? Sent from my SM-A310F using Tapatalk
Yeah door has to come off or cut and glue no one will see! As said above square profile in channel then flaps towards door the rear profile doesnt have flaps like the front or top
Didn't need to remove the door....the seal was generous to say the least.....had to trim off surplus. Fits nicely but in places the leading edge seal can't make it's mind up if it wants to go behind or in front of the door....so forced it behind, locked door and hoping that it will mould itself to shape. Thanks for all the input from you guys.
Can you take a picture of yours please Sarah? Inspired by this I went out and fought mine in the garage as when I first fitted it I used all of my engineering prowess to work out it's orientation and got it wrong, but it seemed to fit better the wrong way around.
Thanks Hun, god knows what iv'e got it looks nothing like that, came in a Schofields premium kit too. Is yours the £65 one?
Yes, £65. I think there is a cheaper version, but I like soft and squidgy grey. Worth the money I think although I’ve not actually seen the cheaper ones in the flesh.
