Sliding Door - Help! - Pulling the door in tighter??

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Beynon5, Oct 3, 2011.

  1. Hello there!

Right well here goes! I'm getting a leak coming in the back end of my sliding door (towards the rear of the van)

Ive tried putting a new sliding bottom roller on because mine looked like it was bent downwards. So that cured the problem a little but so now the door is straight and not dropping down at all, but the problem is the door looks like its sitting off the pillar a bit when closed.

Does anyone know any way I can get my sliding door to pull in closer to the body/pilar at the rear of the door?

Any help would be great :)

I can get some pics tonight if I've explained it like a plank!

adjust the rear centre catch in on the body a little. how is the door sitting everywhere else?

  3. do you have the earlier mechanism which requires you to pull the handle up once you've closed it?
    :)

how new is the door seal? if the door pulls in further when you pull the handle up and latches in, then you could try the rear catch, just need a 6 mm allen key undo the 2 bolts nudge the latch inwards tighten it up and check for fit. if it doesnt latch properly by pulling the handle up then it may be the inner cables need adjustment or maybe have come out of the suports slightly, before either of these open the sliding door and look at the back edge for the latch, rotate it until it clicks once then pull the door handle up and see if it latches to the second point. check for wear on both the latch on the door and the striker on the van
