Sliding door electrics?

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Majorhangover, Jan 26, 2012.

  1. Did any bays have a light switch on the slider / b / c / pillar as standard?

    if so where?
if not has anyone fitted one?

    Any pics/info would be great!

    Cheers

It's not easy to come by but is easy enough to fabricate but on the sliding doors lower region there is (from memory) a dishes in part and 2 holes. The strike plate was bolted in here for the switch on the B-post.

  6. Thanks fellas, so long as I know its do-able I shall build it into the design ;)

You can't go wrong with a lumbering V6 Granada. We see one once a year for an MOT. I love them.

  11. I've got one on my sliding door but I disabled it. I found it a nuisance having to switch the top light off when sitting around with the sliding door open in the day time. But then it wouldn't come on when I opened the driver's door at night.

It would be more useful in a delivery van or mini-bus.

you also need one of these on the door to push the switch in and turn the light off
