Did any bays have a light switch on the slider / b / c / pillar as standard? if so where? if not has anyone fitted one? Any pics/info would be great! Cheers MH
Mine did as it started out life as a panel van (78) A grounding type switch fitted in a square hole on the door pillar with the light itself above the door and slightly to the rear.
Thanks Fritt, was the switch on the b pillar? (behind the passenger door, where the front edge of slider strickes?)
Mine has on the b pillar same type of switch as the A pillars for the front doors the van was a kombi converted by Devon.
It's not easy to come by but is easy enough to fabricate but on the sliding doors lower region there is (from memory) a dishes in part and 2 holes. The strike plate was bolted in here for the switch on the B-post.
I had some of these off an old Granada I had once. Yes,that's right, I had a granada one for the engine bay and one on the slider
I've got one on my sliding door but I disabled it. I found it a nuisance having to switch the top light off when sitting around with the sliding door open in the day time. But then it wouldn't come on when I opened the driver's door at night. It would be more useful in a delivery van or mini-bus.
