    A row of eight ‘pleached’ (trained) Hornbeam planted today, in the peeing rain, in ground that was compacted so solid I could hardly get the bloody tree stakes in more than a foot, and so lacking in drainage the holes were filling with water as fast as I dug them; and then standing 10ft up a ladder to tie the frames all together
