  1. He’s only got one earring, so I suspect he’s not a proper roofer. Have a good look at his credentials tomorrow...

Belton Hall near Grantham....went to get some ideas for a gravel garden, only to discover that the one I'd seen was actually in Norfolk. [IMG]

.... Far from finished but thought some of you buildery types might want a look (sorry @crossy2112 a "gander") at the tiling system ...
No need for double lapping as there are mini gutters for each tile join.
Much less slate (system pays for itself on that front)l and therefore much less weight, which is good for the regs as this replaces the much lighter asbestos sh1te.
Leadwork will get replaced with an aluminium composite.
Bit of fabrication needed for that, but the joy of it for a single handed self builder is you can nip up a ladder with a 1.5m section in one hand.
Flogging the lead will offset that nicely. (No @Geordie you CAN'T have it to soundproof your bus)

Not seen the system before, looks a bit like a slate/pan tile hybrid. Had to look twice at the metalwork tho 1st time I've seen that used for slate/tiles as well.

It's called "Nulok" if you want to look it up.
Another reason I went for it was the single slate + metal made a better basis for collecting heat off the roof for storage under the slab ... Nulok do some nasty flat characterless tiles to go with it

No more findus crispy pancakes and spaghetti hoops for me! Tonight I’ve had a sensible home alone tea :)

King prawns in green Thai sauce, avacado and bit of mayo!

To be washed down with a Pimms.

Are the roof tiles made of natural stone ...york stone or grit stone ?
If that's a tile try and save it as when they fitted them when new they were dressed to fit .

Mate of mine had to put new timbers on a roof job he got ...whipped the stone tiles off without numbering them ...Boy did he have a job putting them back looking right
