Hi wonder if any body got any ideas why my 75 bay sometimes wont go into second gear when traveling ???
Needs adjusting at the foot of the stick. Undo the 2 13mm bolts slightly holding the base plate down, pop it in 2nd (engine off) tighten up again. also worth checking the front bush & the rear linkage are not worn.
And also check the coupler at the gearbox nose and the front bushing on the shifter rod. If your gearstick is aaftermarket e.g. EMPI the built in shifter plate wears out and you have to weld or bolt on a metal strip one side . Symptom is two gears (1&2 or 3&4) get hard to hit as you move stick forwards and backwards as you have to do a little wiggle to find the slot.
Can you get 2nd if you do it in 2 moves, double-D-clutch, let the clutch out in neutral then back in and change to 2nd.
