Just returned from 10 days on the continent with a couple of mates, 1600 miles and no problems thought id do a quick write up and campsite recommendations etc. We went from Dover to Dunkirk VIA DFDS seaways decent crossing 2 1/2 hours and cheap to. First night stopped near Gent in Belgium - Blaameersen Camping pretty expensive 27 euros for one night but good families showers etc. Dover Camped up night 1 next to some Romanians they just covered 2400 kilometres in 2 days - crazy people! next day drove through Holland and Germany to Hanover for next night on our way to Wolfsburg of course! Night 2 campsite - Campingplatz Mardorf next to a huge lake north of Hanover. 17 euros for 1 night 2 adults. good facilities bit dated but does the job so day 3 drove to wolfsburg to the Autostadt and Automuseum to see some rare VWs excellent day 6 euros the automuseum very good value.
so after Wolfsburg we drove wouth to Goslar and Campingplatz Sennhutte - 16 euros for the night and good beer
the rain was horrendous the next day so off we went again after a quick stop in the local town for coffee and cake
drove south again to Siegen and a campsite I cant remember the name off but lovely weather so we spent the next 2 nights here nice beer to
So after 2 days it was time for Le Bug Show at Francorchamps Race circuit Spa, Belgium so another 200 miles back up the road and we arrived
Great show with unlimited amazing VWs Cheeky 76 Late bay from France camped up next to us u get the idea with the amount of VW's so ill keep it short and sweet , sunday evening we drove back to Dunkirk for the late ferry home and another end to a successful road trip. 1600 miles - £330 on juice and a lot of great sights. would prob stay a few nights extra next time to take in some more sights
