  1. That is a snorkelling mask rather than a dive mask.

Many people will have the decathlon version of it, I'll look into if they can be converted as my partner has an unused one

  2. Is a snorkel & mask de rigueur for a supermarket shop these days?

  3. I think that's the easy bit.

The tricky bit is the regulator and control gubbins, so your patients don't inflate like a balloon...

  5. Well, of course!

I think I'd leave ventilator-making to folk who know what they're doing.

It the daily mail what do you expect

The is mask is pretty much irrelevant it’s the clever expensive machine it attaches to thats the essential bit they are short of.

The GTech hoover guy seemed to have jury rigged one of those plastic bottles you see critical care medics squeezing rhythmically whilst it’s connected to a face mask on Casualty etc. I assume it physically pushes and pulls air into lungs.

It looks like a windscreen wiper motor pushes an arm in and out on the bottle, compressing it.

I’m assuming control is a touch more complex but past that it’s a pretty eloquent solution.

Is there an oxygen feed in one of these machines does anyone know?

  9. I assume there will be from the socket on the wall by the bed. Unlikely they just use air.

  10. Did that ventilator you knocked up from your air compressor work? Did they eventually find all the pieces of Mrs Johnson?

Usually you scrape together some money for the patients flowers and card.

Rarely do you scrape together the patient.....

The oxygen level in a patients blood has to be carefully controlled or the thing will kill them.
