I posted a bit back about going camping and said then for South lakes only having small hospitals and we had 1 passed away and 1 critical...well that is now 2 passed away..I had heard another 2 serious but not been confirmed... Edit.... I have a brother who works within the paramedics service and he does not scare easy....but guess what, he is..
Young miss C just passes the positive tested on to the cv wards so unsure of numbers but it's only going to get worse folks. Just seen pictures of the tubes full of 'self isolators' all crammed in
Assume it's everywhere? Don't wait for a confirmed "near death" case near you or you are two weeks too late? I'll stick my neck out - people "these days" move so far, so often, jet around the world, work miles from home blah de blah, by now it's pretty much everywhere though not necessarily in large numbers, just really spread out like a drop of oil on water. Whooomf - too late. Anyone live near enough to a motorway to have used or crossed it at random times of all days of the week? The M6 is clogged with cars from 6am to 8pm. Are they all at work? I often wonder where they're all going and why. All the roads here are like that, not just the motorways. If someone drew every journey by whatever means by everyone in the country for just 1 day on a world map, the UK would be obliterated and most of the globe well scribbled. In contrast, 55 years ago...1965 My dad took me to see the wonder that was the M1. We stood on a bridge (having walked there of course) and waited expectantly to see a car whizzing along. After about 10 minutes we were about to give up when a Moggy Minor chugged past. Because the road was so big the car looked really slow. Cue one disappointed 5 year old. Generally, people didn't get about much then and traffic was slow, every road went through every town, lorries chugged up hills at 10MPH, kids played on the street, not the pavement, the road, a car might come by occasionally, but today... Oh dear.
It's criminal that these very people will expect nay demand treatment from the likes of young miss C. My heart goes out to her and you, it's all wrong. Words fail me.
I'm not scared, sailing to war with people shooting at you is scary. 207 people tested positive in Hampshire and today 7 deaths in the hospital where I had my hip replacement 5 years ago. Marmite happens you just have to deal with it, I'm more scared for the vulnerable persons in the family and not being able to keep them safe.
Yeah just saw on the news, 7 in Portsmouth and another 2 in Southampton today. Don't think there's anyone in our town yet got sick, but apparently a man who lives across the road from where I work has got it. No idea if this is true though as rumour / gossip / chinese whispers is fairly rife right now. Not scared yet, but I'm sure there will come a time when I will be, at least for my family and friends.
Apologies if I've appeared to be a bit negative on the cov threads. I do have one bit of good news, I got the results of my blood test back from the surgery today.
Surely if herd immunity is correct each if us would want thousands of people infected right next to us, but far enough away we can’t catch it. Obviously none of us wants the high death toll.
Not scared but cautious, been getting some bits in for some diy jobs went to B&Q, before we were all locked down , parked away from every body sprayed my hands with sanitizer, wipe the trolley handles with a bacterial wipe turned around and saw a group of 4 idiots with a baby all huddled up taking a selfie in the car park. They didn't even use the store they went to the coffee stall still in a group to top up their caffeine levels. Being an Asthma sufferer I try to take extra precautions wipes sprays and hand washing but these younger ones think it's a joke and they are immune.
