  1. I noticed today my rear axle is resting on the bumpstop ,does that mean my tortion bar has snapped?

if it`s not broke will I be able to crank it up a couple of notches?

or do you think coilovers would be a better solution..

  16. well i raised the p/s by two splines....

this was the picture of the axle before, with the vehicle raised

see the arm has to go down more....

because it was up, I could`nt get the wheel off....

here is it raised two splines and on the floor...

the wheel will come off now ,do you think I need to raise it more?

the otherside will need a couple as well I think...

    or one?

In general, if it's any help, if you lower one spline with standard wheels you can get the wheel off. Two splines and you can't.
If you pull the spring plate out a bit so it's not caught on the stops, at standard height it should sit 1/2" or so below the carrier so you have to jack it up before you knock it in the last bit.
Whatever, if youre spring plate is sitting on the lower stop as in your first pic, you should get the wheel off easily. Are they enormous tyres?
    Hope that helps.

  18. if you re spring plate is sitting on the lower stop as in your first pic, you should get the wheel off easily

I think that picture is a bit misleading, the spring plate was not in the right place as in reference to the other side....

I was just thinking why I have this problem now ,it`s because I have swapped a heavier twin port engine from a singleport?

because everything is well lubed, I will leave it as it is and maybe summer raise it if need be... ;D

  19. on a stock van the spring plate will be slightly lower than the bottom stop on the axle tube when released, when refitting the spring plate at correct angle you will have to jack up the plate slightly with the trolley jack to push it fully into the axle tube.
the twin port is next to nothing heavier than a single port so i doubt it will have made the rear dip, now if you had put a type4 motor and 091 box in then that might have made a difference in hight
