Safari baywindow??

  1. Is there a company out that does a safari window for a bay (windscreen), like you can get for a split or beetle?

    Cheers

  2. rear screen yes, front screen no....as far as I know. I imagine the curve and the weight would be problematic

  3. I hope not.

  4. The splitty ones leak like mad.

  5. So I take this would be a bad idea anyway?

  6. What would its purpose be ? I can understand the rear ones as people sleep in the back and it can get hot.

  7. I have seen one done on a custom bay van, I think the build thread was on VZi. It was on a bus which was slammed to the ground on something like 18" wheels in tubbed arches and a targa roof on the cab (yes, really!!!!). I thought it looked gash though.

  8. Plus how heavy is the full front window.

  9. not a bad idea per sé.....just difficult to engineer and a bit lacking in a point. The splittie ones work because the glass is much lighter and flat, and even then they leak like a sieve. Safari's generally happen in hot dry places not rainy old uk lol

  10. Think it through! Its not really going to work with a windscreen is it!.

  11. Saw a bust with targa cab a couple of weeks ago in Nottingham. He was going the opposite way to me at the time. It looked very low. Think it was b eigey coloured.

  13. sure there was a targa bus for sale on here a while back? Was rather expensive and a bit of an acquired taste.....well done but not my cup of tea

  15. There's a photo of one on the bus stopover 2015 thread in the show photos bit. Can't link as on my phone.

  16. I know the one sure he tried selling this back few months ago

  17. We've got the rear one which looks lovely but that's about all it does! It's rare that we have it open as we live in the UK, the other issue is it leaks! If it's been raining water collects in the groove then when you open the tailgate the water leaks through - most annoying when you're trying to pack things away

  18. Was going to get one you just changed my mind lol
