  6. Hello and welcome. I hope those one eyed trouser snakes aren't causing you as many problems as the drop bears. ;)

  7. Thats a big lump you have there

  8. G'day all. I needed a 15 cm's to fit everything in so decided on blank off plate on water pump & run electric water pump also a remote oil filter & a oil cooler with a fan attached. so getting the length down. I originally planned to use 240z nissan diff's but to long for the rear tail shaft by using commodore it give me an extra 10cm's for shaft. I will post pics after easter break of the gearbox transfer case set up. Hope the weather is clearing for you all over there

  9. G'day all spent a while today working on the steering removed centrepin & put it thru the top so the steering arm goes under the bottom beam instead of thru the middle giving me room to mount the diff with out having to fit the double idler set up used on the jeg & the factory 4x4 bay just have to spot face the upper surface to make room for the wave washer. with nissan transfer case it has a double universal joint that is 24cm's long by replacing it with a kombi axle & cv joint machined & welded into a toyota gearbox tailshaft yoke & a machined adapter to bolt onto input flange on the case it will save me 10.cm's so getting more room all the time to fit it all in between the front floor & the suspension tube . I have used a similar setup on lj58 & 80 suzuki 4x4's in the passed when fitting 120y motor& transmission. so i know it works to allow side & front & rear movement on it. all for now talk to you all on tuesday have a good easter .

  10. I didn't understand a word of that, not sure if its my complete lack of knowledge or your accent?

  13. G'day all just been to have a look a front spindles 1 will be finished next week so I can test fit it to beam & make sure i will get enough movement on the camber adjuster. took kombi shaft & drive flange of the input shaft off the nissan transfer case to have them joined it is a bit of work involved in this as I have to get the axle machined off approx 3" from inside end of spline then the drive flange machined out to a press fit onto kombi axle then welded on, then the drive flange off the kombi box machined out to allow the tailshaft yoke of the hiace 5 speed to be welded to it this will give me movement for the to boxes on their mount's plus a small amount of back & forward as well. picked up a davis craig electric water pump ordered a remote oil filter set up so buy fitting both these items it gives me 10 cm's more to play with. On the tailshaft side of this project I will be using a datsun 180b axle half shaft for the rear because of limited space & a front shaft comprising of commodore with the splined end setup out of the 180b in it as well this will give the slider required for movement & fitting into vehicle

  14. Iam looking forward to seeing progress reports on this . The rover v8 is a classic motor!

  15. G'day 75 tintop. I agree to much emphisis put on cubic inches with that comes weight etc. Been working out cost so far.
    kombi $1600.00
    motor $113.37
gearbox clutch complete shifter assembly inc $200.00
    tailshaft & centre bearing
    transfer case $20.00
    2 commodore IRS diff's $50.00
    rodeo front spindle's free
    dellow bellhousing $600.00
I will post pics of the gearbox & transfer case when i get the shaft back. I will be stripping the wiring out next week & replace it with a home made unit.
wanting to keep the hole for motor small I tested a set of headers but need to cut out to much they interfere with chassis rails so using a pair of p6b standard manifold's they sit nice in the hole. all for now.
