  1. G'day all. an update on the wipers I received 2 new arms for the pantograph type set up. They are off a LHD & RHD Triumph Stag so it gives a full sweep to the edge of the windscreen. I'm using Mini clubman wiper motor wheel box's & tubes for the wiper control system. this should provide a lot better coverage than the existing VW setup. these are the arms

  2. I have a video of a modification I did. It took about an hour to cut the mini wiper motor into bits to use. I made a bracket to bolt the cut the drive section off the Lucas motor & bolt it to a 307 Peugeot wiper motor. It's on my Facebook page called modified KOMBI & VW projects. I tried to load it onto here

  3. good evening all Some more fine Pommy engineering arrived today. I had to weld 2 sections of the worm drive cable together to make it long enough to move the post to the right spot.

  4. More great stuff, I love the "this WILL work" attitude and the seeming ease with which you find some part and bend it to your will.
    Look forward to each post

  5. Good evening all. Hi Valveandy. Glad your enjoying my build. these are the mods I did to fit the Lucas drive to the Peugeot motor.

these are the arms from the UK the LHD unit had been assembled wrong. I had to elongate the lock pin hole the remove the pivot point rivet. the next step to getting a working wiper is to extend the arms by 5cm's o improve the sweep area. This is the LHD unit before I rectified the fault.

I emailed the suppliers in the UK about the assembly mistake they assured me they were right. I then sent better pcs of before & after deconstructing & re constructed & the admitted I was right Bad blue by the manufacturer. Now I have to have a rivet made up in stainless to replace the one I ground down to fix the problem.

this is the cable setup in place. I still need to relieve some metal on the inner panel

  6. G'day to all the Fine English Lucas wiper experts. Can any of you. help me with a problem with the wiper conversion. On ECLECTIC I have a
105 deg sweep wheel on the wiper motor. It's not long enough. If anyone has any ideas on this please let me know. Dr Goggle just can't find a comprehensive thread for me.

  7. G'day all thanks for the info Westy. I have used a protractor as per another follower on FB. I need a 130deg. so know to find one here. at the worst order one from James Paddock over there.

  8. G'day all. It's been awhile catchup time i have been off the build due to injuries to shoulder then repairs to it. Back on deck now. I have finally finished getting all the engineering stuff made now it's time to bolt it all together. In the process of doing the radiator hoses & 2 electric water pups' reversed the inlet manifold drill out the blank water jackets to allow water to flow through as it should. presently deciding whether to supercharge it. will post pics up to follow on> I finally got to meet WONTY. at a VW show. we have formed a VW FB page called VW Funday Sunday. & along with another mate Harold we held our 1st show last year. At the Sandstone Point Hotel We had nearly 200 cars turns of all vw types turn up. Our next show is on the 3rd November. have alook at it. All the best from OZ

  10. Intial position waiting for an adaptor to arrive. I have had the heads serviced I fitted a 4ltr crank pulley for the belt.

part of the cooling system. Davis craig chevy hose runs water to both heads via modified timing case. the radiator is mounted in the rear hatch area engine lid

New commodore V8 radiator insitu the fans will mount to the rear of it.

this is apic of how i did the pajero rear disc set uo from start with machined carrier not the difference.

Note the reversed manifold. i hope to be able to mount a small alternator in the spot. to save running a shaft to the back of the engine as fiest envisaged
    [IMG]

when I fully assembledd the front end I found the steering was going to be a nightmare so changed the spindles around to face the way they do on Rodeo & I'm now using an Audi centre steer unit turned over. this turns in the required diredtion. I have to drill 2 holes to let it move to the right further & 1 in the left as the arms have to travel through the end plates

I had to machine the rear flange off by 7mm to allow the rotor to move into the centre of the caliper simple to fix. After i did it i figured i could have had the spacer done the same amount

    campleted ready to fit up
    no weldinging at all

    front setup.

A big change in style from led digital guages to analogue. Age got the better of me. the leds looked far to modern for the kombi

Changes to steering beval box mouting needed to clear.

part of the radiator support the small tube fits over rubber bush onto spigot on side on the side of radiator then when it bolts on & tightens down it tightens the radiator down on to the crossmember the washer is recyled centre out of holesaw from another job with a thread in it. the welded to bottom of the tube then a bolt up through support memeber to pull it down.

this is what it is assembeled
