@rustbucket one other option to consider would be to get a tin-top with a roof tent. It's not something i'd looked at when i was searching for mine, but given the price differential that exists between tin-tops and pop-tops its something i would definitely consider if i was in the market again in the future. Means you also have the option also to leave the roof tent at home if you're going on a trip that doesn't need it. Something like this (yes i know its' an early but you get the idea):
