These Jigs.. Im aware you have to remove ALOT for the rotisserie one to work, i heard theres some hub types out there? Whats involved with them does anyone no? Does anyone have one?! I have a bit of welding to be done on my rear beam mounts/chasis and think this may be easier rather then completely stripping my bus for a rotisserie type.. although all she has in atm is two front seats! im more concerned of the quicker turn around more then removing parts as itll be all done on a drive thatll have to be cleared at the end of each weekend! Remove the engine? interior? gearbox? anything else? Thanks
@carlperkins001 has it, PM him, it originally belonged to me but it is the unofficial 'club' one. It's a big unwieldy monster but strong and bolts to the hubs, aside from removing battery and fluids I think most other bits can stay.
that would be ace! And when its over itll give me full access to the underside im guessing? Id have the engine out anyway but the rear end chasis from the rear jacking points back is what im working on!
Hi @RM92 I'm interested in seeing that in action and don't live that far from MK. Any chance that I can have a look when you're doing it? Never welded but be happy to assist if required.
Dave at Simpsons Aircooled, Woodbridge, Suffolk has one ( Jig ) currently being used on my Kombi, nice piece of kit although he had to strengthen the original design for my van ! www.simpsonsvw.co.uk
We've got a hub mounted one at work. It makes some stuff a lot easier. Will see if I can get some pics today
Thanks all for pics and advice. I've been sorted out with one and can't wait to get rolling! I'll upload some sort of "how to" guide or something when it happens!
I know they take the weight of the bus on the road but that's all 4 together. It looks like it should break but obviously it works. nice job
