    Nice van :)

Do Vw still do minibuses? Did you not want one with the windows in bulkhead out already to save you work? I still prefer the single rear door, it made sure our bed stayed dry in the T4 when it was rainy and I was messing about in the back :).

A company called Brandrup used to do awning rails etc for T4's so may have cheaper things.

I hope it all goes fab :)

  4. They do look good down but you lose the gutters, you lose 6-8 inches of headroom inside when roof is down, its a nightmare to put up and down

Yes they do a mini bus they call it a "shuttle" trouble is they were all a million miles ex taxis at my price range, you'd also be paying for seats and you have to remove them, plus a lot are twin sliders, they then do a kombi, which is half van half car and 2 windows in, again a good one to start with but good ones a premium, campers and caravelles were silly money.... I too prefer the hatch door but hey ho.

  6. You are pretty brave taking the wife ,it takes mine all day to choose which floor tiles ,even if I don't have an opinion..(or don't care)

Sooo just out of interest ,how much are your estimating for the van to be finished?

Having seen a million t4/5 s in the Pyrenees, I wish I looked at them a bit more closer or even took a picture of one...:D

  7. Where has poo bus gone to live? Do you think we will see it on TLB still?

Essex, doubtful... I heard a story that my buyer was actually buying for VW down under to sell on.... Probably on their website already at an inflated price.

Could be true - the supply of Aussie busses isn't what it was a while back.

  11. Yes there was an article in one of the magazine last month (might even be this month) about a bus they had sourced and prepared for a new owner. Prepared = ripped out everything original and replaced with modern, I imagine in most cases and given the amount people are spending on these buses they are all people buying their first bus (as this article was about) so not really bothered about the history/originality of them.

  12. I hope they don't re-spray it a different colour ;)

  13. I've just been looking into this... For the EGR to fail the mot, it has to be physically removed... Switching it off via software, is essentially the same thing, but as the EGR is still there, then they can't fail it without going through the management code!! The only thing I have spotted, is that you'll have slightly higher emissions on you gas test, but I would've thought that if the guy who does the re-map knows his stuff, then you should be able to tweak the idle map to reduce the emissions :)

Can you expand on the Audi bit..? Always intrigued by this modern engine management and emissions guff :)

  14. You can even remove the dpf in the ECU and have a hollowed out dpf. So it all looks like its there with no problems

  15. @rickyrooo1 don't worry about the DPF, just give it a good Italian tune up once a week, or just always drive it like you stole it.

  16. This^^

DPFs (something I learnt about recently) need a good blast on the motorway, so they get nice and hot, and burn all of the carp out of them!! :)

  17. Who was the buyer?

Fraser Mackenzie but it was collected by Paul from VW down under and they turned up in it at another tlb members house to view one he was selling the other day....

  19. I used to have a 1.9 TD Megane that brought up a message every now and again to regenerate the soot filter and you had to give it a bit of a thrash in 2nd 3rd and 4th to do just that. Used to quite like it coming on. The other half at the time however didn't.
