FOR SALE RHD Bay Westy continental. 1835 & HD gearbox.

  1. Selling on behalf of a customer.

1973 RHD Bay Window camper continental.

All up together with tax & MOT. It will be tax exempt next year as to a government rule change.

Bodywork & paint is all very nice. Not a show van, but pretty to look at none the less.

It has the desirable & rare Continental bed in the pop top roof. That means there is a full double bed upstairs instead of 2 bunks.

3/4 rock n roll downstairs with full Westphalia interior.

Engine is a Rich Morena 1835cc with straight cut gears. It used to be in my Splitty, so know it's good.
It makes regular trips to Cornwall now in this van.
It has twin 40's, CW crank, nice heads, speedshop exhaust, 72 row cooler with fan etc.

Gearbox is one I had built from a 6 rib 2.0L T25 box, hybrid with a late bay box.
It should be pretty much bomb proof & the 2.0L ratios make for a very nice drive.

Wheels are 5x112, so no adaptors to worry about.

Owned personally by one of the Cool-Flow / New Waves crew. These guys live & breathe VW's, & this van is good to go.

The big roof rack has been removed but the tow bar & bike rack are included.

Nice, but "full double bed upstairs" is pushing it for a 5ft 6" long 4x ft wide board with 1/2" of sponge. lol

Thanks for reminding me. And I expect it'll be permanently damp from condensation too. :)

  6. It's a big as you can get without going to a Viking or Moonraker

No its not - the later model westys have got a much bigger bed in the roof!!
seems a bit pricey mate tbh

  8. lol...:D

  9. If you take the average price of a RHD Westy, which they are pretty hard to find, than factor in the pro built, high spec engine & hybrid 2.0L gearbox then it does make sense.

You are not going to get any change from at least five grand for that engine & box to be built, let alone fitted.
