was reading the thread on parking sensors out of interest (personally i'm with the 'that's why they're called bumpers' club ). anyway, i realised that a lot of people are taking about reverse lights... i don't have any. i have the lens, but it's never had any and gets through MOT's fine. should i have some? how easy would it be to put some in? should i stop worrying?
To answer your questions: no, yes, yes Here is the 'how to' http://thelatebay.com/index.php?topic=1387.0 As for the bumpers, l fitted the rubber deluxe trim to mine and a 100w front fog light as a reverse light.
There not tested on the mot Mine doesent have them at the moment but once its back on the road i will be fitting them
I have them because I wanted them. But they're not testable for the MOT so don't worry. I've bought modern cars and put them through MOTs with no bulb in the reverse light and they've been fine. They're a useful safety feature though.
yep, i stick it in reverse and they come on .... like magic. i suppose its something to do with secting reverse and the feed coming off the pos on the coil..
Reverse lights are switched from a switch on the side of the gearbox. If you have one fitted, it's just a case of a bit of wiring. If you don't, the switch is cheap and straightforward to fit.
