Repro rear light housings

Will my OG rear light lenses work with the rear repro housings? Mine are crumbly as hell and just let in muck

Yep. I've got rather horrible aftermarket rear housings with original lenses.

 

You may decide to swap the OG bulb holders over too. The plastic backing part is OK but check you don't split them when you screw up the lenses - the holes might need enlarging.

 

Yep. As I recall the repro bulb holders didn't have any spring in them, and the tabs stopped you getting the back covers on. They are truely crap. Anyone know if genuine Hella ones are sold anywhere?

 

I bought some and subsequently threw them away. Total gash.

The cheap repro ones are shiite.
When I buy some more they WILL be genuine ones.

 

Another vote for avoiding the black ones.

 

i had 2 of the crappy ones in black, it took a lot of fettling to make the bulbs work - the connections are poo.

 

Four years in and the repro ones are faded and crackly. About the same as 35 year old OG.

Cant get the spade connectors on, bulbs come loose, no reflectors. What is there left to like ?

 

I suppose making them does provide employment in the slums of Brazil. Selling drugs is probably a better career choice, tho'

I refurbed mine those repro black ones are terrible

 

I bought some repro ones from from JK which never fitted properly, I think I managed to get some german quality ones from C&C in the end and reused the original lenses.

 

Are these made by Hella, anyone know?

 

Same here chucked them in bin and bought vw ones

 

Iv got these at home on bus will have a look when home

 

The German quality ones from C&C are made by Arteb stamped VW Audi 211945 231.1.
