my van has a charcoal cannister which is not required, but there are 3 pipes into it off the engine and air box, one pipe goes from the top of the cannister to the engine itself, one pipe from the bottom of the cannister to the airbox and another from the bottom of the cannister to the petrol breather pipes at the roof of the engine bay, how would i re-route these pipes if i remove the charcoal filter? i can pop some pics up if it helps? cheers rick.

This clear pipe goes from the top of the charcoal/vapour unit to the engine

This braided style hose goes from the bottom to the air filter housing.

This rubber hose comes off the bottom to the fuel expansion pipes

When i first got the van the clear and braided hoses were not connected, they were just pulled off.

  2. the big black tube near the battery yeah? well it is a vapour recovery system and is connected to the fuel vapour lines that come off the top of the tank. I would leave it in.

if you want to remove the EGR system then it is the sqaure metal cannister underneath with a feed from the exhaust. it goes via the metal cannister into the inlet manifold via a valve. take it all off and blank the valve into the intake and that will take care of the EGR.

  4. are you using carbs now?
    if not keep the charcoal
if so, the pipes from the tank vents (pic3) and to the breather box (pic2) go straight to the air box so you can bin the charcoal
