  3. Nice thread  my sliding door was the only lock on my van that couldn't be locked with my one key, so just took it to bits with the idea of removing some wafers and it turns out that it was just completely bunged up with crud

  4. got to do this to mine at some point .....I seem to remember not being able to get my engine lid barrel out ...any tips on that one?

on the point of removing wafers - bear in mind that it is the wafers that stop the lock turning, now, our busses are not the most secure of vehicles I know, but removing wafers and not replacing them may make it easier to force the lock with a screw driver as there will be less resistance...... you may find that in cases with 3 or more wafers removed just about any key will unlock it, similar to rickyrooo1 problem (although that is probably due to the lock being gummed up and wafers not returning as others have said)

I'd recommend replacing wafers with ones of the right profile for security rather than leaving them out completely

Engine lid one you have to push out the pin that becomes visible when you press it. The whole push-button then springs out and reveals a grub screw.

  6. Tailgate lock & engine lid done :) although I've lost the frickin grub screw on the tailgate lock, so I won't be using that one until I can find somewhere to get a replacement :(

Good work and only 2 hours!

I've just sorned our van so I can have a go at the brakes so sorting my locks has also made it to the top of my "to do" list. I don't suppose I could be cheeky and ask you to send me 3 or 4 of your old wafers for when I do mine could I?

  18. Just for any one with separate lock :confused:on there sliding door and was wondering how to remove the barrel :thinking:this is how remove lock from door then remove the key part from main lock then you will need to remove crome ring from the end of the barrel :)then remove the leaver and you can push out the barrel:D change the parts for your key and then put it all back together [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]hope this helps :chewie:

  19. Hi @womball do you need to take the door handle off?

I'm about to remove mine and I have the remote lock and didn't think I would need to remove the handle.
