refitting the clutch question

  1. Hi all.

My tom Wilson book talks about balancing marks on the clutch pressure plate. cant find any on mine. It is a Sachs clutch 200mm. it is about 5 years old. I have a new friction plate, although to be honest there was nothing wrong with the old one.

my question is can the pressure plate go on in any position?

  2. Yes, effectively. You're unlikely to notice any out-of-balance-ness.

  3. Cheers Snotty. Its engine back in this week. Hooray. Just got to rope a mate in.

  4. As The snott-meister states , shouldn`t be an issue.
Centralise the friction plate* and bolt it all together....

    * I have a special pencil with a wrap of tape around the middle for centralising - other tools are available ....

    :hattip:
