Hello. Is this it? Does a seat belt bolt straight in?
It's a westy Berlin with lap belts at mo. And the piccie is the window behind the r n r bed non wardrobe side. Cheers. [IMG]

  2. It is one of the mounting points. The other 2 are one the wheel arch and the sloping back panel.

  3. There should be another a few inches below it, too. You can fit a (somewhat expensive) bracket to those two points, which allows you to fit a standard 3-point belt, with the reel mounted to the wheel arch. You can also get 3-point belts (Securon 254) that are designed for the reel to be mounted at the shoulder, which is much cheaper and simpler. If the mounting points are all present, accessible, and solid, it’s about as straightforward a job as you’ll find on the van.

  4. Make sure the mounting point on the wheel arch is solid. Common rust point. Also check out @davidoft 's not so uber-rare mounting bars. They are a brilliant bit of kit for making the seatbelt fit correctly over the shoulder.

Brilliant. Thank you very much. Does the seat belt being present make folding the bed away a problem or get in the way when sleeping?

Cheers. Do you mean a few inches below the one in my photo?

    Ta.

  7. Nope. Davidoft's bracket allows the bed to move freely. Take note though, they are UBER RARE and only pretty much everyone now has one, so you had better get an order in quick.:)

    Thanks so much.
I think the ones you showed on the wheel arch etc are the existing lap belt ones that are already in place so hopefully I’ll get it sorted quick and easy. P.

That’s really helpful. So if I get this right. I can fit a securing 254 but with davidofts’s bracket.
    Thanks a million

  11. Can do it two ways. You can use that hole to hold the seat belt reel, and the ones shown above as anchor points. But...you need the right reel, one that can be adjusted to operate at an angle. Works, but the belt is tight coming over your shoulder.

Other (better) option is to use @davidoft 's brackets, which mount upright in threaded holes in the side panel, and have the reel down the bottom in the "boot". Worth it, if you use the rear seats a lot.

    254 is technically 2 point, you need a 3 point, I used 500/45 with a webbing receiver

  13. If you are using child seats with a back on a reel fixed directly to the fixing point works ok. That’s what I have done and will be fine for the next 4 - 5 years. If you are taking teenagers/adults I would fit the bracket.

Thanks everyone. For whatever reason, turns out I don’t have the mounting hole 2nd one down a few inches below the one in my picture. What are my options now? This is for child in a booster seat really but it would be good to have it future proof too.

  15. Take the wooden side panel off. It's hiding behind it ;)

I already looked there but it’s not. :(

  17. That is...odd. Not one down the bottom?

I know....weird. It’s a USA bus if that might be anything to do with it.
It’s got three. The one in the photo and the two holding the lap belt in place. (Wheel arch and the under seat bulkhead bit).
