its the offside brake/rear light...doing head in, bound to get stopped if i drive again at night. checked bulb..all good (tried a fresh one), checked fuse all good, cleaned connections at bulb, had a look behind and wires seem good., brake light works on other side too but nothing to this side.....all of them are old of course, 45 yrs+ but everything else is working indicators both sides etc. Have run out of things to look for to fix. any suggestions??
Just piggy back of the back of the working one, thats all they do anyway, wire probably snapped if no current at the wire.
Its probably the ground spring connection to the outer metal shell of the the bulb base if both tail and brake lights are out together on that side, while indicators are working. I would check that the earth tag actually goes to earth from the cluster to the tag by the engine hatch : the crimp may have rotted off the wire. Failing a missing earth somewhere obvious try wiggling the bulb and scraping dull metal bits that look like they should be touching the bulb. If that fails try carefully stufing tin foil down the side of the bulb to improve the earth contact. And buy a new light cluster housing..
This for a quick fix , my quick fix still ain't fixed after 20 years Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
It’s got too dark all of a sudden to go out there...can only drive in the daylight now, what with Halloween and all that. Sounds like another blue wire from my big reel of blue wire , is going in the engine room.
