Rear floor and chassis

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by garethpuk, Feb 27, 2019.

  1. I've bought an entire rear floor and chassis cut from a scrapped van, the intention is to separate the floor from the chassis and fit it to my van instead of spending an extra £500ish on a new floor which is probably thinner and still need tweaking to fit.

Is anyone interested in parts of the chassis, top hats etc? Let me know if you are and I'll get some photos, otherwise I'll sacrifice and scrap the chassis to get the floor off it.

There are an awful lot of spotwelds to drill out in the cargo floor and it will take some time (did it last year) but as you say the original floor pans will be thicker than reproduction. Even if no one comes forward now for the top hats and I beams now there is a chance they could in the future. Original top hats and I beams like the floor are of thicker steel so could be desireable to someone.

Good luck fella and make sure you get plenty of spot weld drills before you start (I used around 8 of them)
