  3. It cant be that difficult to find out what the issue is. Or at least eliminate things. Good luck!

  4. shall I take a bow or are we still waiting O0

Went down t they said he garage thurs morning they said they could see what was wrong . Said leave it to us and I've heard nothing since . too late for dubfreeze I'm in glasgow now .

  9. What I would do is to isolate the problem. It can only be the mechanical park brake or hydraulic foot brake at fault. Easiest bit first as always, take off the cable from the shoes, obviously bearing in mind your park brake wont work so no big hills!
If they don't stick then it's the park brake. If they do stick then it's the foot brake.
As the original fault was the cylinder, don't rule out a faulty one
The master cylinder seals could be at fault from bleeding the system, less likely if its a dual circuit as the fronts would have problems too
The compensator can be easily bypassed or replaced to rule that out
Flexis are cheap enough so if in doubt just replace them
Check the metal pipes for kinks or restrictions

  10. take of both hubs your self £20 buys 2 new cyclinders replace them then YOU no its done , stripp the interinals wire brush all the fittings ,copper grease all the moving parts , this then will let ye no its not thsi but will be done owen nw

Owen and ab cheers .i was trying to manage time by having the garagw do it . if id done them myself i woukd have gone to dubfreeze . dohh.

  12. didn't you say some wrench monkey had used hose clamps, on your 40 year old hoses...

I can't quite figure out from all the posts, but they worked before, but you had a leaking cylinder (therefore you don't know if they did actually work right before as the system would have been losing pressure) you've added new correct for your year brake shoes and a replacement cylinder. Is that right?

I'm guessing they've adjusted the brakes correctly before bleeding the system, and they've adjusted the hand brake properly?
Flushed all the manky old fluid out and put fresh fluid and bled through at all 4 wheels until its nice and clean?
    Did they clamp the hoses?
    :)

I did all that pre mot mate .new pipes and hoses . failed mot on inneffective h/brake asked garage to sort it to save me time .they struggled to sort as the shoes and drums were thin. at the same time they found a leaky cylinder which they replaced . it passed its mot - on the way home the rear brakes stuck on

    .
i phoned garage they said its because i needed new drums and shoes , i took the van and new drums n shoes to them tuesday . i haven't got it back yet.

  14. I can't see how your drums can be "thin". Shoes, yes.

I'd retrieve the whole lot from these monkeys and do it yourself. They're just stringing you along...

  15. poptop2 i see you type and spell like me when on the bottle owen nw lol :burp:

Well thats sorted , Jordan and Dave got there in the end via a process of elimination , new shoes and hubs , slight weld to build up the spreader bar to make them operate correctly and it they still kept sticking , Dave undone the bleed nipple when it was stuck and they ran free , ergo - master cylinder and has someone who will be karma'd presently said - the rod was badly adjusted - ( by me probably ::) ) , all four brakes were binding , adjust mc rod and alls fine -- result :) .

  20. Well done malc ,glad youve got it sorted, the fun begins now then ;)
