  2. You're not telling me something I don't know, I live on the other side of the Solent have done almost all my life, sailed up and down the Solent numerous times. As regards your £50 ticket that's lucky last month my day return cost £60. My point is that no Government will commit to such a project unless there is a strong economic reason to do so and I don't think that exists here otherwise it would have been built years ago. I suspect house prices etc on the IOW are lower than the mainland?

I've never found the ferries unreliable, true they will limit or suspend services if the weather dictates. Also from an investment perspective, for an owner you are right they have a captive market or monopoly depending how you view it.

You are most likely right that there will never be a big enough economic reason to tick the box to fund it. My £50 return was about 6 years ago - doubt I'll ever get it that good.

  7. I had a basic trap, it was like one of the wooden ones for mice that were in abundance years ago, but bigger and made of metal. I think once it struck them they ram away with it on like an item of clothing till they got to the exit. They went out but the trap got left behind. The newer one would break your fingers, when it goes off it moves about 4-5 ft. I use the slice of burger cheese as it sticks to the plate so they have to put a bit of effort in to ensure it goes off.
