    One of those people that if it hadn't been for the Strictly Come Dancing thing, I'd have thought he died years ago.
    I loved the Generation Game when I was a kid - who could forget the challenge of making a pot! - it was wonderful television, and Bruce was the perfect host for it.
    A great entertainer, even if I - like many - found him a little irritating at times as he got older.
    RIP Brucie :(

  16. Met him once on a golf course ,my god he was grumpy ,he wouldn't talk to anyone or sign autographs. but still people loved him and followed him round the course .

  20. How can anyone have found him annoying? Ok his comedy was very much of its time, but in his height I think he was perhaps the greatest game show host ever. Sometimes whilst flicking through channels I stumble across challenge tv. Watch a few old episodes of game shows from the 80/90s and you see just how bad other hosts were. He's a legend.
