quitting the fags

iv got myself an appointment to get a prescription for champix tablets . I know a few people who say they worked great .

anybody else had them ?

 

my mrs used them and was off the fags for ages but is back on them now.

 

I tried zyban but eventually gave up using patches

 

quitter.

 

My advice for quitting?

Once you've gone through the effort of giving up, think about having to do that all again when you next fancy a cigarette. Also take up some exercise like jogging. You'll then feel your lungs improving as your capacity to run improves. I found that effective.

 

on your last day smoking - smoke 10x more than you would in a year ... in a day ... that helped me ... and chocolate! mmmm

 

I have heard good things with champix and also with zyban (although I tried zyban and went all crazy psycho woman!!)


but good luck. .and def find another hobby to do.. or something to play with and do with your hands

 

Just be warned, you will never truly get over it and on odd occasions the craving creeps up on you, that said, its not the same type of craving, more a "Humm I could just smoke a fag with this pint" then the thought fades.............at least it does for me

 

never smoked never will but if you can afford to burn £6? a day and moan about having no money fair play, go on kill yourself..........

 

actually that is another good thing to do whilst quitting - put the money you would have spent on fags in a jar and pretty soon you will be able to buy a new treat for the van

 

I went the other way about it - I worked out what I'd spend a month on fags, and then spent it every month for about 3... couldn't afford to then.

5 yrs off 'em now ;D
