I thought I’d start a thread where I can post progress pics and ask questions...so here’s the first question....does anyone know where I can buy new decals like these for inside the fuel flap?

  2. Ok forget that last post just realised the decal sheet that I’d ordered from Heritage about 4 years ago have them on it.:)

I’ve fitted a CSP Python exhaust to my engine, like the one above. I was thinking that I’d have to blank off the fan shroud outlets, would I be right?

If you don’t fit heat exchangers, yes. And the holes in the tin of course.

I’m curious; what’s the engine spec and why not use heat exchangers?

  9. 1800 type 4. I replaced the old fecked exhaust with a j tube csp system. I’ve no need for the heat exchangers as I’ve a heated front windscreen fitted and a cabin heater ordered.

  10. A 12v cabin heater? If so, keep the heat exchangers as they are terrible!

  12. I used Cree 21w on the Bug, they are 0range LED, not cheap, but shine 0range thru,' my red US spec rear light lenses.

Expect the heads to run hotter without heat exchangers cooling the exhaust manifolds beside the heads. Fit CHT gauges or expect expensive head work in the future.

  14. Sound. Where did you buy them?

  15. Ah good advice, thanks. Any opinion on a good head temp gauge kit?

  16. Anyone have any issues with rear tailgate seals/hinges. I got new hinges/seals and a tailgate seal from VwHeritage. There seems to be a lot of pressure on hinge when I try to close it against the seal. The picture shows how it sits without pressure on it.

I've just fitted a Schofield seal to the engine lid.....it now needs a firm hand to close it, but the seal fits/looks nice.
