the bracket falling off is poor but moaning about the paint finish and spot weld marks is just moaning, high build primer will fix all the imperfections, order one, if its junk its free to return :)

  5. I ended up buying a front grille from cool air http://www.coolairvw.co.uk/Item/Sho...1259161/T2_1968-72_Early_Bay_Front_Grill.html
because it looked to be better quality but I'm not very happy with it at all.
it doesn't sit right at all compared to a genuine original. I'm also unhappy with the filling and painting around the edges where the blanking plates are but I'll take that up with the guy that did it. he has another couple of things to sort before I pay him so I'll add that to the list. have a look at the photos below and let me know what you think please.

Early grilles are attached differently to late ones, so if you fit an early grille it will protrude from the front

  7. The original early grille in the other photo doesn't. Well not as much anyway

Hard to see in the pics

  9. It definitely sits more flush. Do you think bending the tabs a bit would help? The 2 top tabs in the middle don't even line up anywhere close enough to get a screw in
