  1. Good work so far mate. Keep it up!
Did you buy the car port as a kit? I could really use something like that.

  2. Cheers vinnyboy

Smoggyrich the car port was just something I put together, got all the bits I needed from B&Q
There are kits available though on eBay

  3. Time for a long overdue update

Bus work is progressing rather slowly, but we are still heading in the right direction

Still fighting this section of roof

Not welded for a while, does it show??? Lol

Also have had a bit of help trying to make corners, here are a few attempts

    Still not quite right yet.

So I have now turned my attention to the rear side windows of poor old uggy the ex panel van

Nice work, and well done for sticking at it

  6. Great work, I like the window repair I need to do mine shortly. Was that a bought panel or home made? If the later how did you go about it?

  7. Cheers guys

Syd the panels are home made, a friend of mine has a gadget called a jenny, I used that to put the step in it, then used a sheet metal bender and rolled it around a small price of pipe

I'll try to get a pick of it. Iv never seen one before this one.

I didn't have much luck finding panel van parts for the windows, thought I would give it a try as they looked pretty simple. Nearly done will add some pics soon

  8. ØHere's the jenny gadget, looks like something you make pasta with but in the right hands bends and forms metal really well too

New gutter arrived and just kampers sent sweets too

New side panel / window frame going in

  9. Was hoping to get away with replacing a small section of gutter but found yet more rot that needed to be done away with

Any ideas what that cable does? Interior lights? Couldn't find an obvious end to it

    Spot welds to drill out

And a quick mock up with its new gutter

  10. There's been lots of cutting out, need to really start putting it back together.

Still looking like this from the front

And its still a mess in the middle and the back too, but progress, as tiny as it may be is hopefully in the right direction

  11. Those repairs look great, but that jenny thing looks ancient, I suppose if it works who cares what it looks like.

I think Schofields do a repair panel for the windows on a panel van, but you have to ring they don't advertise it.

  12. Nice work, mine was in a similar state, i ended up putting a new roof on seemed the easiest way to go

  13. I have one of those Jenny/swages here, not the best but then I don't know how to set it up properly! Mine was made by F.J Edwards and was meant to fit into the square on an anvil.

The window surrounds from Schofields are good for the money.

  14. They are nice panels, I didn't think to call em up. Browsed the net and couldn't see anyone selling them so just decided to crack on

If the other side is bad I'll defiantly be buying a dedicated panel

Exup I had a lot of help with the jenny, thankfully it was with a mate who is a tin smith. He did all the setting up for me. I wouldn't have stood a chance otherwise

What are they charging for replacement roofs these days???

  15. I used these both sides on mine from schofeilds !! Again had to call

  16. Finally got around to fitting the gutter

I was having real trouble getting the mig welder to behave towards the end of the job, I'd run out of gas, thought it was me being a novice untrained welder. Blow holes and major splatter everywhere.

Now armed with a fresh bottle of gas I filled in the bits that had been missed, funny how much nicer it welds when using gas lol

  17. You're a braver man than me, looking like good repairs though mate.

  18. Lol cheers daisy, it was never my intention to get this deeply involved

"It'l only need a few patches on the cab floor for the MOT" was the previous owners comments.
Lies lies but once I got stuck in I decided to stick with it, tackling it one piece at a time, 1000 little jobs rather one major one etc
